1) SUMMARY

We collect information you provide (such as account details and support messages) and information collected automatically (such as device data, usage statistics, crash logs, and—if you allow it—location). We use this information to provide and improve the Services, keep them safe, and comply with law. We do not sell your personal information.

2) INFORMATION WE COLLECT

2.1 Information you provide

  • Account information: name, username, email address.
  • Customer support: the content you submit to support (including messages, attachments you choose to share, and related metadata).

2.2 Content you create in the App

Trovia helps you capture and style reading moments (photos of excerpts, notes, voice memos, and related content). How this content is processed depends on the feature you use:

  • By default, your photos/notes/voice memos are stored locally on your device, where supported by the App and your device settings.
  • If you choose to use features that require upload (for example, optional server-based processing described in Section 6), then the content you select may be transmitted to our servers for processing.

2.3 Information we collect automatically

  • Device information: device model, operating system version, language, time zone, app version, identifiers (as permitted by your platform), and similar technical data.
  • Usage data/analytics: interactions with app features, screens viewed, feature usage frequency, and performance metrics.
  • Crash logs and diagnostics: error reports and diagnostic data used to fix bugs and improve stability.
  • Approximate or precise location (only if you grant permission): we may collect location to enable location-based features (if any) and improve service reliability and security.

2.4 Cookies and similar technologies

If our Services include web-based components (for example, a website, embedded web views, or authentication pages), we may use cookies, local storage, and similar technologies (which may include web beacons) to:

  • Keep you signed in
  • Remember preferences
  • Improve security and performance

3) HOW WE USE INFORMATION

We use the information described above for the following purposes:

  • Provide, operate, and maintain the Services
  • Create and manage accounts and authenticate users
  • Personalize your experience and preferences
  • Improve features, performance, and reliability (including analytics and debugging)
  • Protect against fraud, abuse, and security incidents
  • Provide customer support and respond to requests
  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms
No sale of personal information. We do not sell your personal information.

4) SHARING AND DISCLOSURE

We share information only as needed and consistent with this Privacy Policy:

  • With your consent or at your direction
  • With service providers acting as processors on our behalf (only to the extent necessary to provide the Services and under appropriate contractual safeguards)
  • For legal reasons (for example, to comply with lawful requests, court orders, or applicable law)
  • To protect rights, safety, and security (for example, to investigate or prevent fraud, abuse, or security issues)

Data minimization: when we share information, we aim to share the minimum necessary.

5) INTERNATIONAL TRANSFERS

Your information may be transferred to, stored in, or processed in countries other than where you live. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for cross-border transfers, such as Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) or equivalent measures.

6) OPTIONAL AI / SERVER-BASED PROCESSING FEATURES

Trovia may offer optional features that use automated processing (including AI-assisted styling or generation) to help you transform photos and text into literary-style cards.

If you choose to use these features:

  • What is uploaded: only the content you select (for example, a photo of an excerpt and/or text you provide) is transmitted to our servers for processing.
  • Where processing occurs: processing is performed on our own servers controlled by Trovia Team.
  • No third-party sharing: we do not share the uploaded images or text with third parties for this processing, and we do not allow third parties to use it for their own purposes.
  • Deletion after processing: uploaded inputs and generated outputs are deleted from our servers immediately after processing is completed, except where temporary retention is required to deliver the result to you (in which case it is retained only as long as necessary).
  • User control: you control whether to upload content and whether to generate results. If you do not upload, the server-based processing will not occur.
Additional safeguards. We do not use your uploaded photos/text for advertising, marketing, or training third-party models. We do not perform face recognition or collect biometric identifiers.

7) PHOTOS, FACES, AND BIOMETRICS

Trovia may process photos you provide to create reading cards and journals.

  • No face recognition: we do not use your photos for face recognition.
  • No biometrics: we do not collect or infer biometric identifiers from your photos.
  • One-time processing (when uploaded): if you upload photos for optional server-based processing, they are used one-time for that purpose and deleted as described in Section 6.
  • Not used for training/marketing: photos are not used for training or marketing purposes.

8) SECURITY

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect information, including:

  • Encryption in transit and (where applicable) at rest
  • Access controls and least-privilege practices
  • Regular security reviews/audits and monitoring
  • Backups and recovery procedures

No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9) DATA RETENTION

We retain information only as long as needed for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, unless a longer period is required by law.

  • Account information: retained while your account is active.
  • Account deletion: when you delete your account, we delete or anonymize associated personal information within 30 days, unless legally required to keep it longer.
  • Usage analytics: retained for up to 12 months.
  • Customer support content: retained for up to 6 months.

10) YOUR RIGHTS AND CHOICES

Depending on your location, you may have rights to:

  • Access, correct, or delete your personal information
  • Restrict or object to certain processing
  • Withdraw consent (where processing is based on consent)

To exercise your rights, email: xzvzrmpl642622@outlook.com
We will respond within 5 business days when reasonably possible.

You can also control certain data through your device settings (for example, location permissions).

11) CHILDREN

The Services are not directed to children under 17, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 17. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

12) CHANGES TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated policy and revise the Effective Date above. Your continued use of the Services after an update means you understand the updated policy applies.
